River Quest 2010 is an annual kayak and canoe event held at Beaufort's Downtown Waterfront Park. The events include several boat categories and two age categories for men and women. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. at the Park. There are two distances to race: 3.0 miles and 7.4 miles. They take place in the Beaufort River directly in front of the Park. The shorter event circumnavigates a small island in front of the Beaufort Marina. The longer event makes a figure 8 which circumnavigates the same island as the shorter course as well as going through Factory Creek and returning to the Park. The races start together and finish and start at the same place - in front of the Park. Jersey Mike's will provide snacks in the Park after the event and music will be provided by local musicians! The Awards Ceremony will follow both events at about 12:30 p.m.
