Though it may feel frustrating to be the only one in a group who takes recycling and green living seriously it is good to know that everything an individual does to help make the world a better place is a good thing. It can be surprising to find out how much one individual can do when changing their habits. Though this one person can not reverse the effects of global warming the contribution reduces a person’s individual foot print which is a big deal in a world where many people do not care.

Though one person may not be able prevent a landfill from existing the actions demonstrated by this person can affect other people. A person who chooses to ride a bike to work instead of drive may influence a number of other people on the road who see this person and decide it looks like a good idea. A mom who recycles can change the future habits of her children by influencing their attitudes toward eco consciousness. When one person sticks to their decision to do just a little bit they can help to change the attitudes of others which will ultimately help the state of the world. The information doesn’t stop now. Keep looking: Global Warming

Many people aren’t aware that what they are doing to help the environment is making a difference, and that every little bit helps. Even if it’s just you doing your part its better than doing nothing at all. Your new lifestyle and influences may even help others change their lives too. These things will also save you money.

Cut back on Utilities: Shutting off lights when you leave a room, lowering the heat on your water tank, cutting down the amount of water you use by taking shorter showers, using recycled plates and bowls, and washing laundry more efficiently are all going to make a difference conserving energy and water.

Walk When Possible: Instead of jumping in the car to make multiple trips places throughout the day make lists so you don’t travel as much. If you can walk to a park or to the store, or park in an area where you can access multiple stores. This is going to help save on petroleum, and the life of your car

Stop Using Plastic: Get the reusable shopping bags to take with you to the store, no matter if it’s a grocery store or retail store. Get rid of those plastic water bottles that you put in the fridge and get one bottle to carry around. When buying products look for the seal of proof of recycled plastics.

This may come as a surprise to some people, but one of the best places to celebrate Earth Day is in the city! Think about it, if there was a place that gave off the most pollution where would it be? That’s right, cities! Since cities have the highest concentration of people, it is only natural that they have the highest amount of pollution as well.

Pollution is one of the main reasons that Earth Day is celebrated; it is a day that everyone is suppose to pay attention to the amount of pollution that we create that gradually hurts our planet. It is not just a day to clean up trash and other forms of pollution, it is also used to create awareness and bring attention to the amount of garbage that is thrown on the streets, or the amount of food we just casually throw away. By celebrating Earth Day in a city, you can not only help the environment by picking up garbage and doing other community service projects, but you can help a large portion of our civilization be more green. By doing your part on Earth Day, you can help thousands of other people do their part as well.

Many people want to become more economic friendly. Everyone is going green in an effort to help the environment and waste less natural resources. There are ways the entire family can become involved with conservation and Earth Day activities. This even includes pets.
When taking care of pets there are steps to take to become more environmentally friendly. There are florescent light bulbs made for fish tanks to save energy. When picking up pet waste it can be put in biodegradable bags instead of regular plastic bags. This bags will disengage over time, plastic bags will not.The full explanation can be found at http://jingiindec.wordpress.com/2012/04/23/earth-day/ Pets such as dogs can participate in Earth Day activities as well. They can march in parades and help their family member pick up trash from the side of the road. When people see a pet out with their owner it usually attracts attention. This will give people an opportunity to talk about how they do what is good for the Earth.
When taking care of pets electronic devices are not needed. Pets prefer food and treats from their humans rather then a machine. When feeding pets make sure their food is made from all natural ingredients and do not contain any by products. The whole family can get involved with Earth Day activities including pets.

There are so many small things that children can learn to do every day to save the environment. Teaching a child to turn off the water while they are brushing their teeth, walking or riding a bike instead of getting mom and dad to take them everywhere will save resources. They will need to learn what energy is and what they can do to help conserve it.

There are many ways as well to teach about Earth Day; one way to get a child’s attention is through music. Create a song that is positive about Earth Day and the environment, and then make it catchy so they will remember it. Children love to play games, set up trash cans and have the children make teams and fill the cans with recyclable items and whichever team can get theirs full first, wins teaching kids has to be fun.

Saving the environment is one of the most important things we could teach our children. What they learn now is what they will carry with them for a lifetime. If they are taught to respect the earth and how to protect it; they will teach their children and the world can become healthy.
